Internal Care/Staffing Manager

Job Title:  Internal Care Manager

Reports To:  Vice President of Operations

Status:  Exempt

Full/PT/Contractor:  Full Time

Location:  Los Altos or San Jose

 

In this role you will work closely with our senior clients and their families in coordinating home care services that allow them to live safely at home.  This is a challenging but rewarding and important role in our organization that will test a variety of communications and organizational skills.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling and maintaining ever-changing client care visit schedules with caregivers to ensure consistency and quality of care

  • Managing caregivers assigned to your clients

  • Working closely with external client care managers in understanding new client requirements for intake

  • Establishing strong starts of care for new clients with frequent communication and caregiver guidance and making minor adjustments as needed

  • Revising client care plans over time in coordination with clients

  • Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of care staff and provide client feedback to build relationships

  • Maintaining ongoing high client satisfaction levels

  • Taking on call responsibilities after hours and over weekend once per month

 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills and handling challenging situations

  • Strong telephone and email communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing needs without getting too stressed out

  • Warmth, compassion and enthusiasm working with our elderly clients and their families that need peace of mind that their loved ones are getting great care

  • Strong time management skills, sense of urgency when needed and ability to multi-task yet complete key activities

  • Pride in work and strong work ethic

  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn and grow

  • Able to work well independently and with minimal supervision

  • Flexible and accommodating and able to go above and beyond the basic expectations when required

  • Positive, resilient attitude when faced with stressful, time sensitive work demands

  • Absolute commitment to customer services

 

Prior Experience (desirable but not required)

  • Hands on experience working with seniors and their family members in any setting such as a hospital, skilled nursing, senior center, assisted living, etc.

  • Social work background working with challenging populations, preferably seniors

  • Customer service skills working with consumers
