7 Key Things to Know Before Hiring In-Home Care in California
Working with the Belmont Area Medical Community

Over 90 percent of Belmont seniors will want to remain in their homes as they age rather than moving to an assisted living facility. To accommodate this wave of seniors living at home, Homecare California is expanding to serve Belmont families. From a few hours per week up to 24x7 live-in care Belmont seniors can receive quality in-home care from Homecare California's experienced caregivers and certified nurse assistants.  We work closely with nearby hospitals like the San Mateo Medical Center and Mills-Peninsula Medical Center as well as local skilled nursing facilities to smoothly transfer patients from hospital to home.

As a home care provider, our job goes beyond just safety and comforting care for our clients.  We encourage our clients to take part in meaningful daily activities both in their homes and in their own communities.  With the rich variety of resources and interesting activities in Belmont and the surrounding areas, we help facilitate participation each and every week.

Some local activities might include:

  • A visit to the beautiful Peninsula Art Museum

  • Visiting the Belmont Farmer’s Market to buy fresh fruit and flowers

  • Spending an afternoon at the Belmont Historical Society

  • Attending the annual Belmont Greek Festival

  • A weekly outing at Twin Pines Park (or a favorite nearby park) to get some sunshine and fresh air

  • An elegant dinner at The Van’s Restaurant

  • A stroll down Ralston Avenue for a cup of fresh yogurt after dinner

  • Relaxing with a good book at the Belmont Library

Our founder, Lisa Hartwell is actively involved as a volunteer for Partners in Caring, a non-profit service for seniors at Stanford University Hospital’s Aging Adult Services.  If you would like to give back to the surrounding senior community volunteering at Partners in Caring is a great way to participate.
