Veterans Aid & Attendance program
The Veteran’s Aid and Attendance (A&A) Pension is a benefit for veterans and their surviving spouses who require the regular attendance of another person to assist in eating, bathing, dressing and undressing or taking care of the needs of nature. The pension can provide up to $1,632 per month to a veteran, $1,055 per month to a surviving spouse, or $1,949 per month to a couple. There are specific qualification criteria which should be explored.

Homemaker/Home Health Aide Program (H/HHA) is offered through local Veteran’s Affairs regions such as the San Jose and Palo Alto. Homecare California is a participating care provider in the program which provides in-home care visits for personal care and some assistance with household chores. A caregiver or nurse assistant typically visits a veteran in their home one to three times per week, usually for three hours per visit. Veterans must meet certain eligibility requirements to qualify.
